I wrote this song, titled “Introducing Flash and the Pans,” last week - this version was recorded as I was writing it, between the hours of 6AM-8AM at the Silver Door. A few days later, Christian told me that he’d seen a record by a real band called Flash & the Pan. When I wrote the song, I thought the fake band name I’d come up with was almost clever, but no, I’d missed the mark again. In reality, Flash & the Pan sounded like this:
They were a manufactured 80s synthpop group spearheaded by George Young (brother of Angus) and Harry Vanda, who were members of the only group of Australians worthy of the spark of life, The Easybeats.
